The Actress Says Speaking About Donald Trump Would ‘Add Fuel to a Fire’ Tearing the Country Apart

Jennifer Lawrence has declared that she finds it inappropriate suitable to comment publicly against the Trump presidency, worried it could worsen unhelpful debate and further divisions across the United States.

‘I Don’t Really Know If I Should’, Says the Actress

During a discussion, the Oscar winner shared, “During the first Trump administration, I believed I was acting frantically without clear direction. But it’s become clear, through repeated campaigns, celebrities have no real impact whatsoever on electoral choices.”

She continued, “Why continue? I’m just voicing my thoughts on something that’s going to add fuel to a fire dividing the country apart.”

Political Evolution

The actress has admitted freely about supporting conservative and liberal candidates in past elections. Growing up with a right-leaning family in Kentucky, she cast her ballot for John McCain in 2008 prior to switching to the Democrats and explaining she understood during Obama’s administration that voting Republican was opposing her own rights as a woman.

Previous Comments

In 2015, she remarked that Donald Trump’s election would be “the end of the world” and publicly supported the Democratic candidate in the 2020 election. During the most recent election, she lent her support to the Democratic nominee, “as I feel she’s a strong contender and I am confident that she will do whatever she can to safeguard women’s health rights.”

Hollywood’s Stance

The star was joined by most of Hollywood in her disapproval of the former president as a presidential contender, but the minimal impact celebrities have over the voting intentions was underscored by the outcome.

“The second term appears changed,” said Lawrence regarding his administration. “Since he stated his intentions. We understood his record for his first term. He was transparent. And voters made that decision.”

Current Projects

Lawrence is currently promoting the drama, Lynne Ramsay’s movie in which she plays a new mother who faces challenges with her emotional state in the countryside. At a interview session for the film in Venice, Lawrence addressed Israel’s bombings in Gaza: “I feel fear. It’s devastating. What’s occurring is equivalent to a humanitarian crisis and it’s awful.”

Additional Thoughts

Lawrence added by stating that she was disappointed by “the hostility in the discussions of American politics at present and how that is going to be accepted to the kids right now. It’s going to be standard to them that elected officials deceive.”

Lawrence attempted to refocus outrage about the situation to leaders rather than actors and artists. “Concentrate on who is responsible,” she said, in what many took to be a reference to the then-recent pledge supported by thousands of entertainment industry figures to refuse engagement with specific industry bodies.

Relatable Experiences

Lawrence, who earned critical acclaim at a young age for her role in the acclaimed film, is generating Oscar buzz for her portrayal in the new film. While Ramsay has denied the plot being seen as one of postpartum depression and mental illness, Lawrence shared that she identified with parts of her film narrative after the arrival of her youngest child, shortly after filming concluded.

“There was concern for my son,” she commented, “envisioning every potential danger, and then questioning everything that I was doing. I was seeing a therapist, but I started taking a drug called that medicine and I continued it for 14 days and it made a difference.”

Career Moments

Lawrence also discussed of the liberating necessity of completing nude scenes in the movie while she was in pregnancy and limited physically.

“It feels nice,” she said, regarding the need to set aside self-consciousness. “Truly, I occasionally wonder where I’m like, What separates me between my work and that profession? But it doesn’t trouble me deeply.”
