Man Utd Report Record Revenue Despite Disappointing Sporting Performance
The club posted an all-time high revenue figure of £666.5m during the last financial period despite the squad's underwhelming on-field performances
The Manchester side ended the previous top-flight campaign in the 15th spot, constituting their lowest league finish after the 1973/74 demotion season
Nevertheless, the introduction of their multi-year shirt sponsorship deal with the technology firm helped them to post unprecedented commercial revenue of £333.3m, and matchday revenue also reached a peak at £160.3m during the financial term to 30 June 2025
"To have generated historic income during a difficult year within the organization highlights the durability which is a trademark of Manchester United," remarked top official Omar Berrada
"Entering the 2025/26 campaign, we are working hard to strengthen the club in all areas"
Berrada did not mention the club's disappointing opening to the ongoing campaign but stated that United is laying foundations "for the long term"
A total shortfall of £33m indicates a significant decrease relative to the prior period, where the total reached £113.2m
United affirmed that they "continue to adhere to and abide by both English football's financial regulations in addition to continental FFP rules"
Earlier this year, financial analysts ranked Manchester United as having the fourth largest revenue in world football, based on the club's revenue of £651m in the previous year
The Spanish giants (£883m) occupied first place, then came Manchester City (£708m) along with Paris St-Germain (£681m)
