Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention the player by name in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Currently Not on File
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
Rice missed the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
